How It Works!
The Beam Perfecta pulsed dye laser is a workhorse of a laser, designed to perform over 25 different laser procedures. One of its specialized treatments is penetrating the skin and finding the source of the wart, and then effectively destroying it. With a combination of enough specialized heat and concentrated energy focused on the wart virus, the treatment is quick, effective, and very focused. There is no damage to the surrounding skin.
Why our lasers are the best:
The Candela Corporation’s VBeam Perfect is the best pulse dye laser is the best laser on the cosmetic laser market. This laser is quite simply the fastest, most effective pulse dye laser available. We are able to be more aggressive in treatments without leading to bruising or other contraindications like hyper pigmentation, hypo pigmentation, swelling, or scarring.
- Shave the area to be treated the day prior to your laser treatment is recommended.
- Avoid direct sun exposure (being in the sun without sunscreen) on the area(s) you’re having treated for seven days prior to your treatment.
- Don’t use Retin A on the area(s) to be treated for seven days prior to your treatment.
- Finally, if you are using Accutane, please let us know prior to scheduling your appointment.
During the Treatment:
If you’ve never been to our office before, you’ll have some paperwork to complete, including a medical history, skin type chart, and laser consent form. This takes just a few minutes. Once our technician has reviewed your history and has answered all your questions, we’ll escort you to the laser room. You’ll need to take clothing off any area we’re treating. We’ll ensure there is no hair present on the area(s) we’re treating, then wipe the area to be treated with a wash cloth or baby wipe. We’ll calibrate the laser for your procedure, then you and the technician will don the appropriate safety goggles. Let the zapping begin!
Length of Time for the Treatment:
Each wart is pulsed with the laser a minimum of five times, and each pulse takes one second. Depending on the number of warts you have, the minimum time for the entire treatment will be just a few minutes. Additional treatments may be required every three to four weeks.
After the Treatment:
After a laser wart treatment, the treated area will usually look swollen and red, like a blood blister. We will apply a band aid, and you should bring clean socks (if the warts are on your feet) to wear after the treatment. Applying topical wart removal product is highly recommended. Coupling the topical cream with the laser treatment gets the wart virus from both ends – under the skin and on top of the skin. You will be able to go about your life after the treatment, and you can shower, apply makeup, etc. In other words, there is generally no down time after a laser wart treatment.
